Laura Heaney is mother to two wonderfully spirited boys. She is an advocate of birth choices and a long time supporter of the Arizona Birth Network. Unfortunately we have no picture of her, and as such she is as elusive as a unicorn. Or an OBGYN offering home birth. But this is what she gets for not sending in a picture or bio yet. Mwhahaha...
Crys has been involved with the Arizona Birth Network for many years. She is an active birth doula and childbirth educator. She has a passion for all things birthy and usually has a placenta and donor breastmilk in her “special fridge.” Her passion for birthwork is built on the foundation of a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Crys has a son and a daughter and is married to her high school sweetheart. When not entrenched in birth related events or her family’s busy schedule, Crys is likely at a baseball game or grooming dogs.
Nancy has been serving her birth doula clients in the Phoenix valley area for the last 3 years providing gentle guidance and a calm presence. She became a doula at the urging of her sister and after her own experience navigating the medical establishment. An avid athlete and fierce protector of the environment she holds a degree in Economics from Willamette University which has assisted her in providing service that is on the cutting edge of wellness trends while providing evidence based care. Nancy has been a Certified Wellness Consultant for over 11 years, assisting families and businesses in navigating our modern world and helping people eliminate toxins from their home environment, reducing stress and bringing balance home by providing natural solutions.
Kelly has worked as a birth professional since 2011 when she founded SArenity Wise Birth Services and began pursuing doula work following an amazing home birth experience with her first child. Advocacy has long been a driving force in Kelly's personal and professional life, and prior to assisting birthing families held the position of Executive Assistant of PetSmart Charities, Inc. after working for PetSmart, Inc. both in stores and at the corporate offices. Come springtime she intends to continue along her path of providing compassionate care for mothers and families through education towards nurse midwifery.
Kelly is passionate about empowering, educating and advocating for birthing families in Arizona and is committed to continuing to serve families through the AZBN, working as Director of Marketing/Outreach for the organization.
Dr. Danielle Trombetta is a Doctor of Chiropractic and co-owner of Gentle Touch Head & Spine Center with her husband Dr. Aaron Trombetta, D.C. Dr. Trombetta, a native of Wisconsin, attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biomedical Science and Chemistry, graduating with honors in 2001. She then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic where she received her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree and graduated Cum Laude in June of 2005. While at Palmer, Dr. Trombetta participated in the Palmer Clinic Abroad Program, which gave her the opportunity to treat the underserved population of Bequia (a small island in the Caribbean) with chiropractic care and witness the miracles that resulted from removing interference to the nervous system and letting the body heal itself.
Additionally, Dr. Trombetta received advanced training in pediatrics and the care of pregnant women from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (I.C.P.A.). She has also received specialized education and training in the Webster Technique. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment used during pregnancy that reduces interference to the nervous system and balances the muscles around the pelvis. This has been shown to reduce the effects of intrauterine constraint and allows the baby to move into the best possible position for birth. This technique has a high reported success rate of the baby turning to the proper position for ease of birth and it is shown to be effective in expectant mothers who present breech, transverse, posterior and with twins.
Dr. Trombetta has a passion for helping pregnant moms, babies and their families live happier and healthier lives. She is excited and honored to be elected to the Board of Directors of the Arizona Birth Network and to be Co-Chair of the Membership Committee.
